East Cape Manuka Honey 15+ UMF can be taken to help indigestion, soothe sore throats, and to support the body's natural immune defences and promote general good health. It may also be use externally on the skin for its healing qualities

East Cape Manuka Honey 15+ UMFis collected from hives from the remote unpolluted area of the East Cape of New Zealands North Island. This area has one of the largest areas of Manuka trees growing free of chemicals and modern day pollution. The Manuka trees (Leptospermum scoparium variety), are unique to the East Cape and have been proven to contain the most highly active antimicrobial oils of any manuka species worldwide.

'UMF', represents the level of antibacterial activity of the honey against Staphylococcus aureus, as a percentage of phenol concentration eg. UMF Active Manuka honey 15+ has been certified to have an antibacterial effect better than a 15% phenol solution. Most honey has some activity attributed to the formation of hydrogen peroxide but UMF activity is due to other natural phytochemicals present in this special honey.

East Cape Manuka Honey UMF 15+ has been tested and certified to have the specific level of antibacterial UMF. It has been shown to be effective against some bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus - a common cause if infected wounds, and streptococcus pyogenes, which can cause sore throats. The UMF activity is stable to light and heat during storage, and survives enzyme activity in the body, enabling it to exert its effects on the tissues. This honey is processed in a way which ensures the antimicrobial activity is retained and is processed locally, benefiting the community.

Directions: Take one teaspoonful two to three times daily as required, or apply to affected areas on skin for an antibacterial efect
