Activon 100% Medical Grade Manuka Honey will de-bride and de-slough, eliminate odours and provides a moist wound healing environment. It may be applied to any wound and is especially suitable for pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, graft sites, infected wounds, cavity wounds and sinuses. Activon Tube is ideal for debriding necrotic tissue; it's ideal for topping up dressings where the honey is washed away or great for using directly into cavities. Honey can be washed away using normal saline solution. As honey is a natural product any remaining honey will not have any adverse effects.
Medical grade Manuka honey brings the following properties:
- Anti-bacterial, effectively kills harmful bacteria
- Anti-inflammatory
- Eliminates odours without masking them
- Osmotic effect, drawing harmful tissue away from the wound bed
- Maintains the ideal moist wound healing environment
Directions: Twist off cap, apply liberally to the wound bed to a minimum depth of 5mm and cover with an appropriate secondary dressing. Activon Tube is a single patient use only product, once opened use within 90 days. Initially you may experience high levels of exudate, this is perfectly normal and will decrease over time, therefore your secondary dressing of choice may initially need to be super absorbent.

Precautions: Keep out of reach of children. Do not use Activon 100% Medical Grade Manuka Honey if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients listed. Although the honey is not absorbed into the blood stream, we advise monitoring the levels of patients with diabetes. Do not use if allergic to bee venom. Discomfort can be experienced when honey is applied, depending on sensitivity of the wound it may be necessary to consider an appropriate level of analgesic. The initial discomfort usually subsides, however if it does continue, discontinue use and irrigate the wound with saline solution. Always read the label and use as directed.

Action honey
All I can say is Wow this product has been amazing in cleaning and enabling granulation to occur on my dog Jaspers open wound on his leg. Which he sustained when run over by a car . The vet was impressed too. I highly recommend this along with an absorbent dressing.

Good Result
Husband has been receiving visits from the District Nurses for months now to treat troublesome ulcers on his lower legs and nothing seemed to be helping. Someone suggested trying manuka honey and from the first application, it seemed to make a difference. We've only been using it for a couple of weeks now, but they seem to have healed up quite significantly. Will certainly continue treatment with the honey.
