Coco-Scalp Ointment is an External Treatment for Dry Scaly Scalp Conditions
Coco-Scalp Ointment Contains Active Ingredients Coal Tar Solution, Sulphur-precipitated and Salicylic acid, in a Special Coconut Oil Base that Also Conditions the Hair
Coco-Scalp Ointment is a specially formulated coconut oil compound ointment, developed by dermatologists for irritating, itchy scalp conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis and stubborn dandruff.
The ingredients in Coco-Scalp break down the built-up scale and penetrate the scalp to effectively treat the condition. Coco-Scalp is not a shampoo or a steroid treatment; it is a unique compound ointment that is clinically proven to be more effective at removing scale than coal tar shampoo.

Directions: Coco-Scalp is for adults and children over 12 years only. Refer to enclosed leaflet before using.
- Always check the label for directions on how to use your medicine. Your pharmacist will help if you are not sure
- Pierce the tube membrane by inverting the cap. Affix the scalp applicator to the threaded portion of the tube
- Part the hair and apply a thin ribbon of Coco-Scalp to the affected area of the scalp. Take care to avoid contact with the eyes. Gently rub the ointment in and leave in contact with scalp for approximately one hour. Wash the hands afterwards.
- Remove Coco-Scalp after one hour from the scalp by rinsing with warm water and shampoo. Take care to avoid getting the application in the eyes. Always wash hands immediately after use.
- Discard tube no later than 4 weeks after opening.

- Coal tar solution 12% w/w, Salicylic acid 2% w/w, Sulphur-precipitated 4% w/w
- Also contains coconut oil, white soft paraffin, glycerol, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, polyoxyethylene glyerol monostearate and hard paraffin
Precautions: Keep out of reach of children. Suitable for adults and children over 12 years only. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands immediately after use. Do not use Coco-Scalp Ointment if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients listed. Alwaus read the instructions anbd use as directed.

Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't
Prescribed by doctor in error as she said wasn't right for scalp condition, but after other treatment failed, tried it anyhow. Scalp was almost back to normal after one application. Maybe week later scalp became flaky again, did another application but didn't help that time, so hard to know why it might work sometimes and not others.

Excellent product - shame it has been discontinued
I have been using this product for my scalp psoriasis for a number of years, but it has now apparently been discontinued. The smaller tubes are not as easy to use and only last for a few days. Hopefully this product becomes available again.
