Voltaren Emulgel can be used for a number of conditions affecting the joints and muscles

Voltaren Emulgel is an anti-inflammatory gel with a special transdermal base that causes it to be absorbed through the skin into the muscle and soft tissue easier and faster. The active ingredient in Voltaren Emulgel is Diclofenac. It is one of the group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID's). These analgesic gels are used to give temporary relief from the pain and reduce the swelling that can affect joints and muscles, caused by many conditions such as:

• Arthritis
• Inflamed tendons
• Inflamed ligaments
• Sore muscles and joints due to trauma
• Soft tissue rheumatism including:
  • Bursitis
  • Tendinitis
• Localised rheumatic diseases
• Acute soft tissue injuries including:
  • Sports injuries
  • Sprains
  • Strains
  • Tennis elbow
• General aches including:
  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain

Voltaren Emulgel Directions: Rub the gel gently into the skin covering the entire painful or swollen area.  Use it THREE or FOUR times a day.  Immediately wash hands fully after use, unless they are being treated.

Voltaren Emulgel Ingredients: Each gram contains:

• Diclofenac Diethylammonium Gel (Equiv. Diclofenac Sodium 10mg) (1% w/w) - 11.6mg
• Diethylamine, carbomer 934P, cetomacrogol 1000, cococaprylate/caprate, isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, perfume, propylene glycol and water

Voltaren Emulgel Precautions: Keep Voltaren Emulgel out of reach of children. Do NOT use Voltaren Emulgel if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients listed. Do NOT exceed the recommended dose.  Do NOT use Voltaren Emulgel for more than 2 weeks unless on medical advice.  Do NOT swallow, or apply to mucus membranes including eyes.  Do NOT use Voltaren Emulgel on open wounds, injuries, or skin with a rash or an infection.

Seek medical advice BEFORE using Voltaren Emulgel if you:

• Have asthma
• Have ulcers in/bleeding from or other serious problems with the stomach or bowel
• Have severe kidney disease
• Are pregnant or breast feeding
• Take warfarin
• Take aspirin, salicylates or any other NSAID medicines
• Take any other medications
• Are allergic to aspirin, any NSAID medicine, or any other pain relief medicines

Seek medical attention DURING use of Voltaren Emulgel if you experience:

• Swelling or blistering
• Skin becomes sensitive to sunlight
• Asthma, wheezing or shortness of breath
• Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat
• Hives, itching or a skin rash
• Fainting
