Solgar Digestive Enzymes contains a broad spectrum of enzyme groups to support each stage of digestion. Digestive enzymes are secreted along the digestive tract and break down foods, enabling the nutrients to be absorbed into the bloodstream for use in various bodily functions.

There are three main categories of digestive enzymes, amylase, protease and lipase. Amylase, found in saliva and in the pancreatic and intestinal juices, breaks down carbohydrates. Protease, found in the stomach juices and also in the pacreatic and intestinal juices, helps to digest protein. Lipase, found in the stomach and pancreatic juices, aids in fat digestion.

Our digestive systems manufacture these enzymes and they are also obtained from the foods we eat. Digestion can be impaired by stress, poor food choices, eating on the run and not chewing the foods sufficiently, and overeating. Research has also shown that as we grow older, the body's ability to produce enzymes decreases. • Aspergillus Oryzae Amylase (1755 DU) - 65 mg
• Papain - 32 mg
• Pepsin Extract (contains milk) - 30 mg
• Powdered Peppermint (Mentha piperita) Leaf
• Anti-caking Agents: vegetable stearic acid, silicon dioxide
• Cellulose Gum
• Glazing Agents: hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose, vegetable glycerin (from palm kernel oil and coconut oil)
• Bulking Agents: dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, maltodextrin, sucrose
• Free of gluten, wheat, soy, and yeast
• No sweeteners, artificial flavours or colours
