Essential Fatty Acids (EFA's) are a group of fatty acids necessary for many functions in the body, and as they cannot be manufactured by the human body, we must acquire them from our diet in adequate amounts. Due to modern diets, food processing, poor dietary choices, other nutrient deficiencies and certain genetic factors, many people do not obtain enough essential long chain fatty acids to maintain optimal health or adequately recover from illness.
