St. John’s Wort is an important herb for the nervous system. It has long been popular for supporting this system. St. John’s Wort contains at least 10 pharmacologically active constituents. Numerous studies show that one of these, hypericin, appears to act by elevating mood and acting as a mild calmative. Recent scientific studies have shown that another constituent, hyperforin, may have more powerful mood-enhancing, spirit-lifting properties. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study published in 1998 showed that patients who received the highest amounts of hyperforin-containing St. John’s Wort scored highest on the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression. (A high score on the rating scale indicates lower levels of depression.)

Directions: Take one tablet in the morning and one in the evening with water, for all-day, all-night support.

St. John's Wort Aerial Parts Extract (Hypericm perforatum) - 460mg
- standardised to 0.3% hypericin, contains hyperforin
Other ingredients - cellulose (plant fibre), di calcium phosphate, stearic acid (vegetable) and magnesium stearate (vegetable)

Precautions: Keep Nature's Sunshine St. John's Wort out of reach of children. Do NOT take Nature's Sunshine St. John's Wort if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients listed. Do not exceed the recommended dose. While taking this product, avoid exposure to strong sunshine and tanning rays or tanning salons. It is advisable to wear sunglasses when being exposed to strong sunlight conditions. Do not take St. Johns Wort while taking any prescription drugs without the advice of your prescribing physician. Do not use with prescrition antidepressants, contraceptives, immunosuppressants, anticoagulants, digoxin, blood thinners, medication for HIV, epilepsy or cancer. Consult your health care provider before using this product if you are taking prescription antidepressant drugs, including SSRIs and MAOIs. Not recommended for use by pregnant or lactating women.
